In the spirit of promoting openness and learning, I leave equipment metadata on all of my photos that I post online. So you can generally check there for details on which equipment and settings I used for a particular shot. If you want to get into photography and you don't know how to read the metadata of photos, then that's your next thing to learn. :)
My current equipment is as follows:
Canon EOS 5D Mark II (link)
Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L USM (link)
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM (link)
Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM (link)
Canon EF 180mm f/3.5L Macro USM (link)
Canon Extender EF 2x II (link)
Canon Speedlite 580EX II (link)
I only got my first SLR camera in October 2006. Since then, I've gone through tons of Canon camera bodies and lenses as I learned more about photography and could appreciate and take advantage of the differences in each body and lens. This kind of equipment holds its value tremendously well, especially lenses, so I didn't lose as much money through all of the buying and selling as you might think. In the process, I tested and learned about each of those pieces of equipment as well. The Canon SLR equipment I used previously is as follows:
Canon EOS 40D
Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi
Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi
Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM
Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Canon EF-S 18-55 f/3.5-5.6
Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM
Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM
Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6
Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM
Canon EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro
Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM
Canon MP-E65 f/2.8 1-5x Macro Photo
I got my first digital camera in January 2001 - a Sony "CYBERSHOT" with which I had mostly bad experiences, not the least of which is my complete lack of photos of September 11th, even though I was within two miles of the World Trade Center during the whole ordeal. With my September 11th fiasco as my primary motivation, in December I turned over to a Canon PowerShot S110 after some extensive research. I loved it thoroughly and in 2005 I upgraded to a similar but next generation Canon PowerShot SD500 that I still use today in certain rare situations such as underwater.
Prior to 2001, I did shoot some non-digital photography, but nothing to speak of in this context. :)
